Dr Peter Kabunga qualified in 2001 from St George’s Hospital Medical School, London (LMSSA). He completed his junior medical training at the Royal Free Hospital, London and senior specialist cardiology training at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Dr Kabunga is accredited in cardiac electrophysiology by the British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS). He completed a graduate diploma in cardiac electrophysiology (Australia) and a 2 year advanced Fellowship in cardiac pacing and electrophysiology at the prestigious Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia.
Dr Kabunga is jointly appointed as a Consultant Electrophysiologist and Cardiologist at Darent Valley Hospital, Kent and King’s College Hospital, London.
Dr Kabunga won a silver medal at the European Heart Rhythm Association Congress ECG championships. (March 2019, Lisbon, Portugal)and was recognised with an award as one of the AF Association Healthcare Pioneers 2019 at a ceremony in Westminster Palace.
The AF Association Healthcare Pioneers Report recognises best practice in the identification, diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and is used as a benchmark to improve services and care for patients with AF.
