Dr Kelly is an experienced consultant endocrinologist, diabetologist and general physician. Dr Kelly has a very patient focused approach to care, always striving to deliver a high quality and easily accessible service. Dr Kelly offers rapid access to investigations working very closely with colleagues in diagnositc imaging and the laboratories along with providing patients with up to date information and support.
Dr Kelly has been a Consultant Physician at King’s College Hospital since 2013 and he is also the Clinical Director of acute medicine. His clinical interests are in general and specialist endocrinology and he is the endocrinologist for the sarcoid mulridesciplinary clinic at King’s managing patients with hypercalaemia, tumours and failure of the hypothalmus, pituitary, adrenals, thyroid, testes and ovaries. He also manages diabetes mellitus, lipid disorders, disorders of calcium, magnesiam and sodium and hypertension. He has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of anaemia.
Dr Kelly’s inpatient work includes expertise in managing patients with sepsis or infections of the lungs, urinary tracts and central nervous system, assessment of sudden onset headache and the possibility of subarachnoid haemorrhage and the diagnosis and management of pulmonary embolism and its consequences on cardio respiratory health. Dr Kelly also see patients for general health checks and in reducing the risk of heart and cardiovascular disease.
Dr Kelly graduated in medicine from The London Hospital Medical College and undertook specialist training in endocrinology, diabetes mellitus and general and acute internal medicine at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals. Alongside his clinical training he undertook research in the endocrinology of colon cancer and gained an MD from the University of London in 2010. He was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in 2016.
