Following completing specialist training in the UK as an ophthalmologist, I joined King’s College Hospital as substantive consultant taking the lead for Diabetic Screening Program at Bromley and south London area, the DSP program is in partnership with Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals.
In addition, my proactive role in medical and clinical researches and teaching prominent international researches related to eye diseases. As a result, I was honoured to be appointed as an honorary lecturer at the Imperial College, London faculty.
Since qualifying as a consultant, I have led retinal services in different trusts including Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and involved in anti VEGF injection treatment for Age related macular degeneration, Diabetic retinopathy, Laser treatment and Cataract Surgery at Kings Edward VII Hospital in Windsor.
In total, of 20 years of work experience as eye specialist, including more than two years quality Retinal fellowship, has consolidated my clinical knowledge following performing thousands of cataracts surgeries and ability to use different type of lenses including multi-focal, toric and spheric IOL. Most of which were accomplished to the highest standards with very low complication rate, that are well below the national standard.
